Fire Restrictions & Tripod Torch™

In today's world, fire restrictions, or fire bans, are becoming increasingly common, especially during dry seasons. But what exactly do fire bans entail, and what activities are permitted or restricted? The US Forest Service has provided simple videos explaining Stage 1 and Stage 2 Fire Restrictions which you can view here, but here’s the basics.

During Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, wood or charcoal fires must be contained within a metal fire ring or grill stand at an improved or designated campsite. Wood fires are prohibited in rock fire pits, also known as dispersed fire rings.

Under Stage 2 Fire Restrictions, wood or charcoal fires are prohibited entirely, even within a metal fire ring.
